A teleprompter app for TikTok that follows your voice

Atrio puts your script right below the iPhone front camera and records vertical video while you read. With voice follow on, the text moves only as you say each word and waits when you pause. Your take saves straight to Photos without a watermark, ready to upload to TikTok.

Built-in vs appFollowing

When to use TikTok’s built-in teleprompter vs a separate app

TikTok and CapCut both include built-in teleprompter tools. If you are recording a 15-second clip, typing three sentences right before you hit record, and scrolling at a steady speed, the tool inside TikTok or CapCut is already on your phone and saves you a step.

A dedicated tiktok teleprompter app helps when the built-in box gets in the way. If your script is a full minute or longer, if you draft scripts in folders on iCloud Drive, or if a fixed scroll speed pushes you to rush your delivery, a separate tool gives you control over the text.

Atrio is built for that second case on iPhone (iOS 26 or later). Instead of guessing a scroll speed, its voice-activated teleprompter mode listens to your speech on the device and advances the script word by word. If you pause for breath or improvise a quick aside, the current line waits until you return to the script.

Step by stepStandby

How to record a TikTok with Atrio step by step

Atrio keeps the recording workflow simple because it uses your existing files and your iPhone camera roll.

  1. Write your script in plain text (.txt) or Markdown (.md) and save it to a folder in the Files app or iCloud Drive.
  2. Open Atrio on your iPhone and point its script library to that folder. You do not need to create an account or log in.
  3. Tap your script to open it in the prompter view and turn on the front camera. Atrio records in portrait (vertical) orientation.
  4. Choose your scroll mode. Pick voice follow so the script moves as you speak, or pick autoplay and set a fixed words-per-minute speed.
  5. Hold the iPhone at eye level or place it on a tripod, tap record, and read your script. Every take captures both video and audio.
  6. When you finish, the clean vertical video saves directly to the iOS Photos app with no watermark.
  7. Open TikTok, select the video from your camera roll, add captions or cuts if you want them, and post.
Script tipsStandby

Script tips for short-form vertical video

Put your hook on the very first line of the file with no title above it. On TikTok, the first two seconds decide whether someone keeps watching. When the first line of your .txt file is the actual first sentence you say out loud, you can start speaking the moment the camera rolls.

Make the text large enough to read at arm’s length and move the reading line up close to the front camera, so your eyes stay near the lens instead of darting across the screen.

Write the way you talk, including contractions and short sentences. If a sentence feels stiff when you say it out loud, cut it in half before you record. For more ways to keep your delivery natural on camera, read our guide on how to read a teleprompter.

SettingsStandby

Atrio settings to use for TikTok takes

Front camera (portrait)
Turn on the front camera in the player to record vertical video and audio while the script moves on the same screen.
Voice follow
Matches your spoken words to the script using on-device speech recognition, so the text moves when you talk and stops when you pause.
Autoplay (WPM)
Scrolls the script at the exact words-per-minute pace you choose, without using the microphone. Useful if you record in a loud room.
Speech engine (Apple Speech or NVIDIA Parakeet)
Pick between Apple Speech (14 languages) and the optional NVIDIA Parakeet TDT v3 download (9 languages, including Polish) in Settings. Both run on the iPhone and work offline once downloaded.
Mirror mode
Flips the text horizontally, vertically, or both if you mount your iPhone in a beam-splitter glass teleprompter rig.

What is free and what costs money

Atrio is free to download. Autoplay, manual scroll, front-camera recording and mirror mode are free. Voice follow is free for your first 3 sessions, then a one-time $14.99 in-app purchase unlocks it for life. No subscription. No ads. No account.

If you only want a steady words-per-minute scroll with front-camera recording, you can use Atrio as a free teleprompter app for as many TikTok videos as you record. If you want the script to follow your voice after your 3 trial sessions, you pay once and own it.

QuestionsStandby

Questions about recording TikToks with Atrio

Does Atrio post directly to TikTok?
No. Atrio records vertical video and audio with the iPhone front camera and saves the file to your Photos app. From Photos, you open TikTok (or your editing app) and upload the clip yourself.
Does Atrio put a watermark on my video?
No. Front-camera recording is free and saves clean video to Photos with no watermark.
How is Atrio different from the built-in TikTok teleprompter?
TikTok’s built-in teleprompter works on text you paste into the recording screen. Atrio reads .txt and .md files from Files or iCloud Drive, includes mirror mode for glass rigs, and offers voice follow so the script moves word by word as you speak.
Does Atrio add captions or edit my TikTok video?
No. Atrio is only a teleprompter and camera recorder. It does not generate captions, cut clips, or apply green screen effects. You can add captions inside TikTok or another editor after saving your take.

Atrio is free to download. Autoplay, manual scroll, front-camera recording and mirror mode are free. Voice follow is free for your first 3 sessions, then a one-time $14.99 in-app purchase unlocks it for life. No subscription. No ads. No account.
