Teleprompter for iPad: what Atrio supports

If you want a teleprompter for iPad, know that Atrio is built for iPhone. It installs on an iPad and opens in iPhone compatibility mode, without a native iPad layout or a full-screen design. Here is what to expect before you download it.

Compatibility modeFollowing

What iPhone compatibility mode looks like

If you are looking for a teleprompter for iPad, you should know how iPadOS handles iPhone-only apps like Atrio. The iPad runs the full app inside an iPhone-sized window. A button in the corner switches between the default window and a 2x zoomed view, and neither option fills the entire iPad screen.

Atrio does not support Split View or Stage Manager, and camera framing is built around the iPhone. If you have run other iPhone-only apps on an iPad, Atrio behaves the same way.

Why iPhone onlyStandby

Why Atrio is built for iPhone

Atrio focuses on voice follow: on-device speech recognition that moves your script word by word as you speak and waits when you pause, while the front camera records vertical video. That workflow fits a phone held in your hand or mounted on a small tripod close to your face. We built and tested Atrio for that iPhone setup rather than an iPad propped up farther away.

If you still want to try itStandby

If you want to try it on your iPad anyway

Atrio is free to download. Autoplay, manual scroll, front-camera recording and mirror mode are free. Voice follow is free for your first 3 sessions, then a one-time $14.99 in-app purchase unlocks it for life. No subscription. No ads. No account. You can test compatibility mode on your iPad before paying anything, and read more on our voice-activated teleprompter page.

If you want a teleprompter that follows your voice while you record on a phone, Atrio is built to run on an iPhone.

QuestionsStandby

Questions about Atrio on iPad

Does Atrio have an iPad app?
No. Atrio is built only for iPhone. The Xcode project targets iPhone exclusively, and the App Store listing has no iPad screenshots.
Can I install Atrio on my iPad at all?
Yes. An iPad running iPadOS 26 can run an iPhone-only app, so Atrio will install and open. It runs in iPhone compatibility mode, which shows a smaller, iPhone-shaped window rather than a layout designed for the iPad screen.
Does voice follow still work in compatibility mode?
Yes. The app is the same binary, so voice follow, autoplay, and manual scroll all work. Text and controls sit inside an iPhone-proportioned window rather than filling the iPad screen.
Will Atrio get a native iPad version?
There is nothing to announce today. If that changes, the App Store listing will show iPad screenshots and native iPad support. This page describes what Atrio supports right now.
Does the recording setup work the same on iPad?
Front-camera recording and mirror mode run the same way. Because the front camera sits in a different spot on an iPad than on an iPhone, your eye line and framing will differ from the iPhone setup the app was built around.
